Test pilots and observational studies help cultural institutions develop nature and cultural experiences

Challenge

We're venturing out into nature like never before. Both Danish and foreign tourists seek out nature experiences whenever they take time off or go on holiday. Many cultural institutions are interested in how they can utilise the potential that lies at the cross-field between nature and cultural experiences. So Destination South Zealand and Møn, Visit Fjordlandet and Danish Coastal and Rural Tourism have joined forces with Epinion to launch the Outdoor-Culture project, which will explore the potential of utilising and developing offers that underpin nature experiences with cultural experiences, and vice versa. The project will also support the cultural institutions’ efforts to explore and develop nature and cultural experiences.

Approach

Overall, the project's output will result in recommendations that provide a strategic direction for the destinations, showing them how to relate to and support cultural and nature experiences. Secondly, the participating cultural institutions will receive detailed input for their selected experience concepts. And finally, other cultural institutions will gain access to a number of tools that support how they can further develop their own nature and cultural experiences.
